L-CET MX Tablets (Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride 5 mg + Montelukast Sodium 10 mg)
L-CET MX Tablets are an effective dual-action therapy for managing allergic rhinitis, seasonal allergies, and asthma-related symptoms. This combination tablet offers
- Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride (5 mg): A potent second-generation antihistamine that provides fast, long-lasting relief from sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.
- Montelukast Sodium (10 mg): A leukotriene receptor antagonist that helps prevent inflammation, nasal congestion, and bronchoconstriction, making it useful in allergic asthma.
Together, they provide broad-spectrum allergy and respiratory symptom control.
Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics
- Levocetirizine: Rapidly absorbed, peak plasma levels at ~0.9 hours. Selectively blocks H1 receptors to reduce histamine-mediated allergic responses.
- Montelukast: Peak plasma concentration in 3–4 hours; acts by blocking leukotriene D4 at the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor, reducing bronchial inflammation and allergic symptoms.
