AZYREX-500 Tablets(Azithromycin 500 mg)

AZYREX-500 is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic formulated to treat a wide range of bacterial infections with once-daily convenience. Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Azithromycin Dihydrate equivalent to Azithromycin 500 mg – an effective antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, offering targeted action against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and atypical pathogens.

Ideal for treating infections of the respiratory tract, skin, soft tissues, and certain sexually transmitted infections.

• Absorption: Rapidly absorbed with ~37% bioavailability.
• Peak Plasma Concentration: Reached within 2–3 hours post oral administration.
• Distribution: Extensively penetrates tissues, resulting in high tissue concentrations.
• Elimination: Long half-life (~68 hours); primarily excreted unchanged via bile.

Pharmacodynamics
Azithromycin disrupts bacterial protein synthesis, preventing bacterial growth. Its prolonged half-life allows for shorter treatment durations with sustained efficacy.

Dosage Information
