Amorex-625 Tablets
Amorex-625 is a powerful combination antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It pairs:
- Amoxicillin 500 mg – A broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
- Potassium Clavulanate 125 mg – A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from degradation, ensuring effectiveness against resistant bacteria.
This synergistic combination is especially effective against infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues.
Pharmacokinetics
- Absorption: Rapid oral absorption; peak plasma levels within 1–2 hours.
- Distribution: Extensively distributed in body fluids and tissues.
- Metabolism & Excretion: Primarily excreted unchanged in urine; amoxicillin has a half-life of ~1 hour.
Pharmacodynamics
- Amoxicillin: Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis.
- Clavulanate: Neutralizes beta-lactamase enzymes, overcoming bacterial resistance and restoring antibiotic effectiveness.
